Abstract

The AI irruption in human life has consequently led to most quotidian spheres being governed by algorithms. One of these spheres is social media, where algorithms operate as content moderators. In other words, they decide what we watch, how and when. This enables algorithms to maintain a monopoly over modern day free speech. In this context, we propose to examine if content moderator algorithms negatively affect freedom of expression, right to information, and right to non-discrimination. Moreover, we will analyse preventative function as a tool to prevent the potential consequences that may result from content moderator algorithms.
