Resum

This research main objective was to analyze the enjoyment received by schoolchildren in third cycle, in Physical Education classes. The sample consisted of 142 students in 5th and 6th grade (60 boys = 42.3%; 82 girls = 57.7%), aged between 10 and 12 years (M=10.99, SD=0.81) of two public schools in Lugo city. The Scale questionnaire measure of enjoyment in physical activity (PACES) was passed to them. The data resulting from the questionnaire showed that students have a high degree of enjoyment in PE classes (M=4.54; SD=0.53) and no significant differences in the gender variable (boys: M=4.51 and SD=0.52; girls: M=4.56 and SD=0.54), but among students 10 to 11 years (p=0.05) (with the following results by age: 10 years old: M=4.68 and SD=0.30; 11 years old: M=4.40 and SD=0.75) and 12 year-old students (M=4.55 and SD=0.39). Therefore, it was found that schoolchildren in Lugo city enjoyed in PE classes, regardless of age or sex, but it seems that this enjoyment is greater at younger ages.
