Resumen

The aim of this research was determining social interaction preferences (cooperation, competition, individualism and affiliation) of Primary and Secondary Education students in the physical education area. The study was carried out in different educational centers of the province of Lugo. The sample consisted of a total of 319 students, of whom 160 were Primary and 159 of ESO and 53.6% were boys and 46.4% were girls. The results obtained showed statistical differences in the cooperativity stage factor (p = 0.002), competitiveness (p = 0.003), individualism (p <0.001) and affiliation (p = 0.003). Regarding gender, there were statistically significant differences between boys and girls in high school in competitiveness (p <0.001) and in individualism (p <0.001) being higher in children than girls. The results obtained showed a greater preference for cooperation and affiliation, these values being higher in Primary than in ESO. On the other site, in terms of gender, can be seen as girls have a greater tendency to cooperation and affiliation than boys.
