Résumé
The Labour Force Survey places the youth unemployment rate above 55% at the end of 2013.The increasing rate of employment on new employment sources does not reduce the current sex segregation (Women‘s Institute, 2013). This study explores the sex differences in skills for job search and self-promotion in job interviews. 110 university students took part in a simulated interview in which they had to show their skill for a qualified position. The study shows qualitative differences between men and women in the type of arguing, self-promoting strategies and impression management. In light of these adverse outcomes for women we propose doing a revision of the training curriculum in university, which considers the competences related to employability and has an impact on the negative effects for women.
