Abstract

Aiming to make an approach to the meaning of graphism, researchers use Osgoods semantic differential to start studying the factorial composition of the space composed by judgements on visual signs, according to its plastic features. The factorial research results in the structuring of the already-mentioned semantic space into four mein features, which is innovative, regarding previous research. The introduction of this new factor (Clarity), related to the visual plastic sign, as well as the reafffirmation of the existence of the classic three factors (Evaluation, Ptency and Activity), make it possible to use this technique by operating with scales in Spanish purported to study pictures lacking a real point of reference.
