Abstract
The Brazilian edited press, by Spanish immigrants as Brazilian editors, was a mirror of the Spanish Civil War in many aspects. The presence of an important colony of Spanish immigrants in Brazil and the main character of the political system in Brazil, immersed in an authoritarian dictatorship from 1937, let the public discussion and the opposite positions to be born. The press suffered the muzzle of the censorship, or became in a demagogic pulpit. While the pro governmental media attacked the Spanish republican Govern, another intellectuals and journalists got the way to avoid the censors and defend that Govern.
