Resum

The main objective of this study was to analyse the double-wall shot opening in professional padel according to the typology, direction of the strokes, side and gender. 451 shots from 20 professional matches (10 males and 10 females) were analyzed. The variables observed were: typology of double-wall shot (with and without turn), direction of the ball, effectiveness and side of the court. The results showed a higher % of double-wall stroke without turn, with a result of continuity of the point. In relation to gender, males performed a higher % of double-wall turning at the left side, and with a right direction of the ball. However, females showed a higher % of double-wall opening shot without turn at the right side and with a lob direction of the ball. In conclusion, it seems exist differences in the double-wall stroke between gender and side court. These results could help to elaborate specific training exercises and to optimize the performances of the player in this situation. Key words:
