Abstract

Nowadays, society has to adapt to the needs of an increasingly numerous and influential population group, the elderly. Therefore, social policies should be aimedat promoting active and healthy ageing, encouraging and facilitating physical and sporting activities. In this way, the ultimate goal of these policies should be to eliminate sedentary lifestyles, the main problem that predisposes to chronic non-communicable diseases such as obesity, hypertension... that affect the senior and pre-senior population. To this end, the Recrejuntos project is presented, an application for Android devices that promotes the practice of physical-sports activities in an intergenerational way, through the use of a gamified methodology. Therefore, this gamified narrative will take into account the main tastes and interests of users. Consequently, they will have an application where, similar to a video game, they will have to complete different challenges on a weekly basis, always in an intergenerational way. Finally, the ultimate goal of the application is to motivate and generate satisfaction when it comes to physical activity in the participants, while helping the senior and pre-senior population as well as children and young people, in order to improve people’s quality of life.
