Resum
Although modern operative intervention for calcanealfractures has improved the outcome in many patients, there still is no real consensus on treatment, operativetechnique, or postoperative management.Vira® is a system for reconstruction-arthrodesis of severecalcaneal fractures, consisting of a nail with holes andscrews for fastening to the talus. Treatment of closed calcanealfractures with Vira® System has excellent results, with less impairment, shorter hospital stays, and betterfunctional outcomes than those following nonoperativetreatment or open surgical repair. The aim of our study was to elaborate a clinical practiceguidelines basis of “best evidence” and consensusamong expert group that assists physiotherapists tomake diagnostic conclusions and therapeutic decisions,to improve the quality of care and to provide uniformityin care of conservative treatment interventions for severecalcaneal fractures.
