The investigation “The aesthetic contribution of semiotics to the theory of reception, as a critic of cultural products”, makes a brief historical tour and to show the philosophical currents and the notions expressed regarding the appreciation of artistic work and cultural products in generally. It proposes a review of the background that gave rise to the development of aesthetics as a new field of study inscribed in classical philosophy. The emphasis revolves around the theory of reception, based on phenomenology and hermeneutics. The fundamental role of the reader-receiver in the face of the aesthetic effect stands out. Likewise, it proposes the use of semiotics proposed by Charles Sanders Peirce, as a method to support the theory of reception and analyze the aesthetic effect on those who consume the cultural product. It supports the analytical experience of reader-receiver, in the Peircean triad and the categories they contribute, to the analysis of the ambiguity of language, aspects of fuzzy logic and fuzzy sets linked to the field of semiotics.
