Resum

Fundamentos: La formación de escolares es un tema importante en la promoción de la participación del público lego en la mejora supervivencia después de paro cardiaco extrahospitalario. Para esta formación de calidad, es necesario conocer qué es lo que saben los escolares de cara a establecer qué necesitan aprender al respecto. Por ello, el objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar los conocimientos en SVB de escolares de 5º y 6º de Educación Primaria y alumnado de 1º, 2º y 3º de Educación Secundaria. Métodos: Durante el primer trimestre del curso 2021/2022 se realizó una encuesta a 947 escolares de Educación Primaria (n=308) y Secundaria (n=639) de entre 10 y 17 años de cuatro centros escolares sostenidos con fondos públicos de la Xunta de Galicia. Resultados: El 62,81% de los escolares encuestados recibió formación previa. El 92,30% respondió incorrectamente a la secuencia correcta de actuación ante una persona con posible parada cardiaca y el 93,14% lo hizo al orden correcto de ejecución de DEA para una descarga eficaz. El 82,40% de los escolares conocen el teléfono de emergencias. El alumnado de Educación Secundaria y los que recibieron formación previa poseen mejores conocimientos que los de Primaria (p < 0,001) y los que no la recibieron (p < 0,001), aunque en ambos casos no llegan a 5 puntos sobre 10. Conclusiones: Los escolares gallegos de Educación Primaria y Educación Secundaria poseen unos bajos conocimientos en Soporte Vital Básico por lo que no se está contribuyendo a la iniciativa “Kids Save Lives”.
