Résumé

Intense physical exercise should change natural homeostasis. Long term physical training or acute training session will provoke important changes in human steroid profile. In sport training area, it is very important the knowledge of androgenic steroid/ corticosteroid ratio due to its importance on the evaluation of overtraining level, referred to anabolic or catabolic status. There are many researches in relation with this topic, but results sometimes are contradictories. Therefore, the purpose of this work is making a review article based in several researches where blood or urine steroid profile had been studied in long or sort term exercise programs, with the aim of clarifying the role of steroid hormones in physical activity and giving a new point of view for future researches.
