Abstract

The perception of the football coaches about the small-sided games in the training processIntroduction and Objectives: The small-sided games allow to work specifically the physical, technical, tactical and psychological aspects. The present study intends to verify the coaches' perception of the use of small-sided games in the training process. Materials and Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with professional team coaches from the 1st Liga Women's Football and the 2nd Liga Men's Football. Data analysis was carried out using content analysis through the definition of categories a posteriori. Results and Discussion: The small-sided games allow the coach the different aspects of the game, through the manipulation of conditioning factors, being taken into account in the periodization of the training. Conclusion: The results allowed to conclude that small-sided games are of great importance in the process of preparation of the players and team.
