Doctor by the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca with the thesis El camino de Lévinas en la fenomenología. Un itinerario intelectual a partir de Husserl 2005. Supervised by Dr. Antonio Pintor Ramos.
I hold Licentiate degrees in Theology and in Philosophy from the Pontifical University of Salamanca (UPSA), with the Final Degree Award, and a PhD in Philosophy from the same university, with the Extraordinary Doctorate Prize. I am currently Full Professor of Philosophy of Religion at UPSA and, since 2013, Associate Professor in the Department of History of Law at University of Salamanca (USAL). 1) SCIENTIFIC CONTRIBUTIONS, RELEVANCE, AND INTERNATIONALIZATION I have developed an original line of research in phenomenology and philosophy of religion, with attention to the rationality and public presence of religious phenomena. Within this line I have produced a corpus of 43 publications (2 authored books, 6 critical editions/translations, 16 chapters, 19 articles), with verifiable reception across academic platforms. Among my publications, I would highlight From Husserl to Levinas (2006); the critical edition Jean Héring: Phenomenology and Philosophy of Religion (2019); and recent articles on phenomenology of religion published in journals indexed in Scopus and ESCI/Web of Science. I have one recognized CNEAI six-year research assessment period (2009–2017) and another under evaluation (2018–2025). I have served as Principal Investigator in two pre-competitive research projects, in addition to participating in other collective projects. I currently lead the International Research Group “Phenomenology, Religion and Public Rationality” (UPSA) and I am the PI of the competitive project under evaluation DOREPH – Religious Documentality and the Public Sphere, in collaboration with Maurizio Ferraris and the LabOnt – Center for Ontology (University of Turin). My research profile is supported by stays at international centres (Freiburg, 2007; Hochschule für Philosophie München, Feb.–Jul. 2008; Husserl Archives in Paris, Jan.–Jul. 2017; Rome, 2019 and 2021; Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, Jan.–Jul. 2022). 2) CONTRIBUTIONS TO SOCIETY: KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER, PUBLIC DIALOGUE, AND OPEN SCIENCE My research seeks to translate philosophical results into public issues and takes form in initiatives for dialogue among academia, Church, and civil society, including Diálogos de Yuste, the “Humanism, Science and Faith” Forum, the Fernando Rielo Chair, and the Domingo de Soto Chair. A structural feature of my work is a commitment to open science through the systematic deposit of publications in institutional repositories and their public dissemination. 3) RESEARCHER TRAINING, ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP, AND QUALITY ASSESSMENT I have contributed continuously to the training of researchers through the supervision of 10 doctoral dissertations and 2 ongoing projects, 29 Master’s theses/Licentiate dissertations, and 69 bachelor’s dissertations. My teaching trajectory has received positive evaluations in DOCENTIA. I have held relevant academic responsibilities as Vice-Dean (2010–2013) and Dean (2013–2016) of the Faculty of Philosophy (UPSA); Director of the Master’s Degree in Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences (2015–2016); Director of the Fernando Rielo Chair (2013–2017); and member of the Domingo de Soto Chair (USAL) since 2013. In teaching innovation, I have directed the DECA programme “Religion and its Pedagogy,” developed over 18 editions and recognized as a teaching innovation project (ID2019/073). In evaluation and scientific quality, I served as Expert Adviser to the Agenzia della Santa Sede per la Valutazione e la Promozione della Qualità delle Università (AVEPRO) from 2013 to 2018, chairing external review panels at university centres in Rome. I have served as journal reviewer, conference organizer, and director of the philosophy textbook series Sapientia Rerum (BAC) from 2012 to 2016, integrating research, training, and academic responsibility within a coherent and sustained career.
